We agree that for middle and high school students especially, metal platforms are preferable. They tend to outlast many of the mid-grade vinyl pads, plus they have the authentic cache of the DDR platforms found in arcades.
Along with the PS2, the DDRMax2 game, plus two memory cards, this DDR equipment bundle includes two excellent quality metal dance pads, each rated to accommodate 500lbs of dancing/stomping/jumping weight. Each dance pad weighs 30lbs, and will stay in place with heavy game play on carpeted or bare floor surfaces. Shoe removal is not necessary since the dance pad surface is extremely durable.

A General Note About Dance Pads DDR dance pads in a school setting get a lot of heavy use and often, some abuse. Even the most durable dance pads available for purchase will eventually wear out and need to be replaced. We strongly recommend that schools budget for replacement of dance pads at least every two years, especially if DDR play is offered to students on a daily basis.
